
Today’s scholarship is the 2012 Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is open to all graduate and undergraduate students who are attended accredited college or universities. This scholarship awards four separate scholarships, each of which are worth $10,000.In addition to this, winning applications “are mentored by children’s programming professionals during the academic year.” One of the four scholarships is specifically for students who live in the Pittsburgh (PA) area.
To be eligible students must be studying a combination of the following fields:
- early childhood education
- child development
- child psychology
- film/television production
- music
- animation
- cross-platform entertainment production
The scholarship application can be found here. In addition to the scholarship application, students must write an essay (maximum of two pages) that explains “how you meet the scholarship requirements.” Additionally, applicants must submit two letters of recommendation.
