
Today’s scholarship is the Better Business Bureau Foundation of Northwest Florida 2011 Student Ethics Scholarship (yes, that is quite a mouth-full). This scholarship is for high school juniors and seniors who plan on attending college or university. Eligible students must reside within the Better Business Bureau of Northwest Florida service area.
The specific areas that BBB NW Florida covers are: Bay, Calhoun, Franklin, Gasden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Liberty, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Wakulla, Walton, and Washington counties.
A total of nine college bound juniors and seniors will be awarded scholarships of $1,000.
The scholarship committee for the BBB of NW Florida Scholarship is made up of local academic and business leaders. They will be looking at the following criteria:
- Leadership
- Community service
- Academic achievement
- An essay on building character
- Application form
- Three (3) letters of recommendation
- Supporting documentation of academic, community, extracurricular, and leadership experience/involvement
- Copy of the applicant’s academic transcript
- Essay
- Why do you consider yourself a passionate character builder?
- Why is character building so essential to you?
- How do you propose to motivate and help others join you as a passionate character builder?
