Today’s scholarship is the Pacific Gas & Electric Company’s Bright Minds Scholarship Program.  We especially love finding scholarships with BIG awards for you that are renewable!  Luckily, the PG&E Bright Minds Scholarship Program is both of these things!

Sponsored by PG&E, this scholarship will be awarded one million dollars in scholarships to winning students!  Scholarship winners will receive an award of up to $30,000, which is renewable for up to four years!  All other finalists will receive a scholarship award of $2,500!

To be eligible for this scholarship students must high school seniors, current undergraduate students, or have a GED certification.  Students with their GED or who are high school seniors must plan on enrolling in an accredited full-time program in 2012-2013.  This program of study can be a two or four year college or university, a vocational school, or a technical school.

Finally, eligible students must live within the PG&E service area!

Scholarships can be completed and submitted online.  The online application includes the following components:

  • Transcript of grades
  • Extracurricular activities (including employment)
  • Community service
  • A short essay about your educational/professional goals
  • Financial information from your most recent tax return
