College can be an expensive investment. This past year, the federal government required colleges and universities to have something called the net price calculator on their websites. The net price calculator simply estimates the “actual” cost of a particular college. With student loans on the rise, this is a wonderful tool to help students and their families determine the cost of a college.
The Department of Education has also offered a video scholarship program that is worth $1,500. The goal of this program is to help spread public awareness of the net price calculator. This scholarship program is offered to high school and college students.
Judges will be evaluating video entries based on the following criteria:
- Content (how informative is the video?)
- Creativity (be “innovative and imaginative”)
- Technical video execution
- Overall Presentation
Entry forms can be found online, on the scholarship website.
The deadline for this scholarship is January 31, 2012!
