The Applied Computer Security Associates is offering the Scholarship for Women Studying Information Security, a $10,000 scholarship to a woman for use in her junior or senior year of undergraduate studies (or for the first year of a graduate program).
To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must demonstrate interest as evidenced by coursework, clubs, internships, or work experience in aspects of information security, must meet all SWE requirements for eligibility, must complete all SWE application information, including reference letters, a CV, and an explanation of your interest in the field, and students must be studying at a US university to be eligible, due to SWE rules. The aforementioned “interest” can be in the fields of network security, software security / software assurance, operating systems security, database security, applications security, formal methods, forensics, cybersecurity, and security usability
This scholarship is applied to through the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at their Online Scholarship Application System site. Applications are due on February 15, 2012 at 5 PM Eastern Time- there will be no extensions! The ACSA also requests that you notify them of your application at swsis@acsac.org.
