2012 Law Enforcement Children’s Scholarship

wbtb SM 221x300 2012 Law Enforcement Childrens ScholarshipThe Wives Behind the Badge, an organization “dedicated to providing resources and emotional support to law enforcement families”, is currently offering a scholarship program to the children of law enforcement officers. Applicants must be current high school seniors or currently attending a four-year university or community college, have a cumulative GPA of a 3.3 (out of a 4.0), and must be active in the community in terms of volunteer work. The organization is offering two separate scholarships: one is a $1,000 scholarship while the other is a $500 scholarship.

The application for this scholarship consists of several components. You must submit a scholarship application form, proof of parent or guardian’s occupation (I.D. or supervisory letter accepted), 3 letters of recommendation (one from a teacher or school counselor, one from an employer/community service supervisor, one form a personal reference), a current official transcript, and, finally, a 500 word essay responding to the following prompt: “How has being the child of a law enforcement officer helped shape who you are today and where you see yourself in the future?”

This scholarship application is due on April 13, 2012 by 5:00 PST. Completed applications should be mailed to:
