NASSP logo NASSP/Herff Jones Principals Leadership Award Scholarship ProgramThe NASSP (National Association of Secondary School Principals) is currently offering the NASSP/Herff Jones Principal’s Leadership Award Scholarship ProgramThis scholarship program is directed to high school principals, and gives them the opportunity to recognize a student leader by nominating him or her for a national scholarship.

These scholarships range from $1,000 to $12,000, and 100 high school seniors from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico will be awarded. NASSP and Herff Jones have awarded the PLA scholarships since 1988, providing more than $3.5 million in scholarship awards to outstanding students from across the nation.

To be competitive for the NASSP/Herff Jones Principal’s Leadership Award, nominees should be in the top 20% of their class and demonstrate leadership. Only one senior per school can be nominated. If your high school does not usually participate in this program and you believe yourself to be competitive for this, it would be a good idea to forward a link to the scholarship (especially the nomination form) to your high school principal, asking for a nomination.

Nominations for this scholarship must be completed by 12:00 a.m. CST Friday on December 2, 2011. For further information, check out the eligibility and criteria and the Frequently Asked Questions section. Also, check out the list of previous winners on the NASSP website. Best of luck!
