One of the first scholarships that we profiled was the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program, held in honor of the 40th President of the United States of America. This is a scholarship that debuted last year and provides a renewable scholarship of $10,000 to students. The GE-Reagan Scholarship rewards students who exemplify President Reagan’s best qualities:
- Leadership
- Drive
- Integrity
- Citizenship
To be eligible for the GE-Reagan Scholarship students must:
- Demonstrate financial need
- Have a GPA of a 3.0 (or higher)
- Be nominated by a community leader (a community leader can include people like a principal, elected official, or non-profit director)
- Be recommended by an authority figure (this can include an adviser, community service organizer, coach, employer, teacher, etc.)
- Be a high school senior (graduating in the Winter 2011/2012 or Spring 2012.
