One of the first scholarships that we profiled was the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program, held in honor of the 40th President of the United States of America.  This is a scholarship that debuted last year and provides a renewable scholarship of $10,000 to students.  You can see the profiles of the inaugural GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program winners here! 

The GE-Reagan Scholarship rewards students who exemplify President Reagan’s best qualities:

  • Leadership
  • Drive
  • Integrity
  • Citizenship

To be eligible for the GE-Reagan Scholarship students must:

  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Have a GPA of a 3.0 (or higher)
  • Be nominated by a community leader (a community leader can include people like a principal, elected official, or non-profit director)
  • Be recommended by an authority figure (this can include an adviser, community service organizer, coach, employer, teacher, etc.)
  • Be a high school senior (graduating in the Winter 2011/2012 or Spring 2012.
The 2012 GE-Reagan Scholarship opens up tomorrow November 14, 2011, and is open until the deadline, which is February 17, 2012Interested applicants can start their applications here! Best of luck to all applicants!
