Probably the man I admire most in history is General Robert E. Lee. Say what you want about General Lee, but he was disciplined, brilliant, and did what he thought was right. I could go on and on about General Lee, but it would have nothing to do with scholarships, so let me get to the point! My favorite Robert E. Lee quote is “The education of a man is never completed until he dies.” I think this is such a simple, but wonderful quote.
In this spirit of lifelong learning, today Scholarships360 is going to profile the Destiny Solutions Mary Cone Barrie Scholarship Program.
The scholarship is named after Mary Cone Barrie, who was the director of the School of Continuing Studies at the University of Toronto. As someone who graduated college over a year ago, I can say that learning certainly does not end with the end of “formal education”. In some ways, taking a step away from school has allowed me to learn for the sake of learning.
While the scholarship for 2011 has ended, the application for the 2012 award should be up soon on the Destiny Solutions website.
Last year two scholarships worth $2,500 were offered and the deadline was in July!
Best of luck to all prospective applicants!
