Tonight’s scholarship is the 2011 Lego Smart Creativity Contest. Growing up, I loved playing with Legos with my brothers. We built everything from castles to towns to a simple house. Legos are certainly powerful toys/tools for teaching children (and adults) about innovation and creativity.
This scholarship contest asks applicants to answer a simple question:
Show us how you use LEGO Education solutions to spark student innovation!
In this, students are encouraged to use animation, a skit, or even a song to show “tribute to the creativity of the LEGO brick.”
This scholarship is open to all students from Kindergarten to students who are seniors in high school. To give you an idea of what the scholarship committee is looking for, you can take a look at the 2010 winners.
Otherwise, the scholarship application is available online (there is a separate category for students who are homeschooled).
Best of luck to all applicants–you have until October 14, 2011 to submit your entry!
