Shell Oil Company Scholarships

shell Shell Oil Company ScholarshipsOil, oil, oil.  Petroleum and energy are a very important topic and I doubt you can go a day without hearing about it on the news (or from a friend complaining about the cost of filling up).  The Shell Oil Company supports students who are interested in energy issues and studying engineering or geosciences through their scholarship program.

Shell has several scholarship opportunities available to students.  The scholarship for high school students is called the Shell Oil Company Technical Scholarship Program.  The Technical Scholarship Program is for high school students seniors who plan on studying engineering or geosciences in college.  There are 20 different awards available and each award is worth $2,500!  The scholarship application for the Technical Scholarship Program for high school seniors is available online.

Shell also has a scholarship program for students who are in community college and pursuing an Associate’s Degree.  Students must be working towards their degree in one of the following disciplines:

  • Process/Production Technology
  • Petroleum Technology
  • Compressor/Compression Technology
  • Electrical/Electronics Technology
  • Industrial Maintenance Technology
  • Instrumentation/Analyzer Technology
  • Machinist/Mechanical Technology
Finally, Shell Oil Company has two scholarship opportunities for college students.  The first scholarship is the Shell Oil Company Incentive Fund Scholarship Program which is for under-represented students who are studying a technical discipline.  The best part of this scholarship is that it is worth $5,000 per year and is renewable for up to four years! For more details, you can check out the scholarship application online.
The other scholarship for college students is the Shell Technical Scholarship which is also renewable and also worth $5,000.  The only difference between this and the Incentive Fund Scholarship Program is that the Shell Technical Scholarship is open to all students studying engineering or the geosciences.
