When we look for scholarships to profile, we like to find opportunities that apply to a broad array of students. Today’s scholarship, The NASA Aeronautics Scholarship is no exception, as college and graduate students can all apply!
NASA expects to award a total of 25 scholarships to students (20 to undergraduate students and 5 to graduate students). To be eligible, students must be studying aeronautics, engineering, mathematics, or another related field.
Undergraduate students must be entering their second year of study and will be eligible for two years of scholarship support. Each award will be worth $15,000 and can be used for tuition, room, board, or books. In addition to the scholarship, undergrads who win this award will be eligible for an internship at a NASA Research Center and a $10,000 stipend! The combination of financial support and professional experience makes this a really awesome opportunity for undergrads!
More information about the scholarship for undergraduates can be found online.
The structure of this scholarship for graduate students is a bit different:
Grad students also receive 2 years of scholarship support, but have the option for a third year of scholarships! The annual scholarship award is $11,000. Additionally, graduate students receive a $35,000 stipend AND are eligible for an internship with NASA that comes with a $10,000 stipend. More information on the scholarship for grad students can be found on the NASA scholarship website.
The scholarship applications for both of these awards can be found online!
The deadline for the scholarship is January 15, 2012, so you have plenty of time to get started!
