We have had an interesting weather week in New Jersey with an earthquake and also a hurricane moving toward the Garden State. In the spirit of this, today’s scholarship is the National Weather Association Scholarship Program.
In all, the National Weather Association offers seven different scholarship opportunities to students. However, right now only two of them are still open to applicants.
The first scholarship that is still open is the 2011 NWA Arthur C. Pike Meteorology Scholarship. This scholarship is for undergraduate students (who juniors or seniors) and graduate students who are studying meteorology or a related field. This scholarship is worth $1,000 and will be awarded to one winning student.
The application for the Pike Meteorology Scholarship is available online.
The second scholarship is the 2011 NWA Phillips Family Undergraduate Meteorology Scholarship is only for undergraduate students and the application is also online. The Phillips Family Scholarship is also worth $1,000 and will be awarded to one student.
Applications for both of these scholarships are due October 25, 2011.
If you have any questions about either of these scholarship programs, you can contact Ruth Aiken: assist@nwas.org
Best of luck and stay safe!
