The Ron Brown Scholar Program is a scholarship program for African-American high school seniors.  This is a really generous scholarship that is worth $10,000!  The best part is that scholarship is renewable for up to four years of college!  Each year a minimum of ten students will be awarded Ron Brown Scholarships.

As with other renewable scholarship programs, the Ron Brown Scholar Program is a very competitive scholarship.  Successful applicants are students “who will make significant contributions to society.”  In this, students have demonstrated leadership potential through academic excellence and community service.  Students must also demonstrate financial need.   This scholarship is open to students regardless of academic interest or intended major.

In addition to the scholarship application (which can be found online), applicants who are finalists will be invited to a weekend selection process in Washington, D.C. where they will be interviewed by members of the scholarship committee.

Applications are due by November 1, 2011!

Completed application packets (which include transcripts and letters of recommendation) must be sent by mail to the scholarship committee:

If you have any questions about this scholarship program, you can contact the scholarship committee: info@ronbrown.org

Best of luck to all applicants!
