The Bobby Stark Foundation is a foundation started by Bill and Diane Stark in memory of their son Bobby.  That main purpose of the foundation is to award scholarships to young people (students between the ages of 18 and 22) who plan on continuing their education.

Since its inception, the Bobby Stark Foundation Scholarship Program has awarded 47 scholarships to deserving students who “need assistance and are doing what they can to help their community.”

To be eligible for this scholarship students must be planning to enroll in a college, university, or community college as a full-time student for the fall 2011 semester.

Additionally, students must have completed 15 hours of community service.

Finally, the scholarship asks applicants to write an essay:

The student must write a 500 word essay explaining what the student plans to major in and
what their goals are once they graduate. The student should also include in their essay
what they did for their community service hours and why they should be awarded this
scholarship in honor of our son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend, Bobby Stark.
Please download the application and use a word processor to complete. Handwritten
applications will not be accepted.

The scholarship application is available online and must be postmarked by July 28, 2011.

Completed applications can be sent to the Bobby Stark Foundation:

Best of luck to all applicants!
