While we have already profiled one baseball related scholarship, you can never have too many posts devoted to America’s pastime. This scholarship is the Jaime Horn Memorial Softball Scholarship, which is annually offered by the Babe Ruth League to provide financial aid in the form of a $1,000 scholarship to high school senior girls who played Babe Ruth League softball.
The scholarship application asks some fairly basic questions (what age division did you play in? what colleges were you accepted at? why do you deserve this scholarship?) that need short answers, it requires a letter of recommendation from a person who “has influenced your life”, and, if you have one handy, it will probably be a good idea to attach a resume along with your application. Keep in mind that this scholarship does not take your high school grades into account, and do not ask for a high school transcript at all.
When your application is completed, send it to:
Jaime Horn Memorial Softball Scholarship of Babe Ruth League, Inc., P.O. Box 5000, Trenton, NJ 08638
by September 1st. The scholarship will be awarded in the 2nd semester of the recipient’s freshman year.
