The college essay is probably the most feared aspect of the entire college application.  I remember spending countless hours simply thinking about various topics to use for my essays.  Today’s scholarship comes from a really interesting foundation called Share Your Story.  

Share Your Story was founded by Julia Moody and it aims to help lower income students through the essay-writing process.  The mission of Share Your Story is:

I realized that I was in one of thousands of schools across the country filled with students of different cultural backgrounds but similar demographics, and that the college essays that these students produced would provide a valuable, inspiring reference resource for students as well as educators.

This is a really cool idea that will undoubtedly help many lower income students with their essays.

In addition to creating an educational resource, Ms. Moody has created a scholarship fund for lower income students!

The scholarship deadline for this opportunity has passed, but this is something to keep in mind when all you rising high school seniors are writing your college essays!
