Today’s scholarship program from the Law Offices of Michael A. DeMayo, was recently brought to our attention.

For the past 10 years, Attorney Michael A. DeMayo and his law firm have offered scholarships to high school seniors.  This generous scholarship program has grown to offer 15 high school seniors in North Carolina and South Carolina a $2,500 college scholarship.

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be high school seniors and reside in the following counties in North Carolina and South Carolina:

North Carolina: Mecklenburg, Gaston, Catawba, Union, Cabarrus, Cleveland, Lincoln, Rowan, Caldwell, Stanly, Irdell, Alexander, Burke, Robeson, Scotland, Richmond, Anson, and Cumberland

South Carolina: York, Lancaster, Chesterfield, Marlboro, and Dillon

Students must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and have been accepted at an accredited four-year college or university for full-time study.

Scholarship applications are due February 27, 2012, but students can send in their applications early!

The scholarship application packet must include:

  • A presentation “that encourages fellow teens to abstain from underage drinking and driving and/or highlights the dangers of drinking and driving.”  This presentation may be a video, PowerPoint, brochure, website, or essay.  The scholarship website has more details about the requirements for each presentation!
  • High school transcript (with class rank and test scores)
  • Standardized test scores (Students can print a copy of their online score report to send in)
  • Two letters of recommendation
