Big corporations are known for establishing generous scholarship programs for students. From Walmart to Buick, Scholarships360 has profiled many scholarships that are sponsored by corporations.
As you may have guessed, today’s scholarship is sponsored by a corporation (the Xerox corporation to be more specific). The Xerox Minority Scholarship Program is a scholarship program is for minority students who are interested in pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in a technical field. Students who will be entering their freshman year of college in the fall are also able to apply! This scholarship must be postmarked by September 30, 2011 and awards students scholarships between $1,000 and $10,000!
To be eligible students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and must be considered a minority (African American, Asian, Pacific Island, Native American, Native Alaskan, or Hispanic descent).
Finally, applicants must be studying one of the following technical fields:
- Chemistry
- Information Management
- Computing & Software Systems
- Material Science
- Printing Management Science
- Laser Optics
- Physics
- Material Science
- Engineering (Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Imaging, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Optical, or Software)
Eligible students can find the scholarship application online. The application includes a portion that must be filled out by the financial aid office at your college or graduate school.
Additionally, students must also submit a resume and cover letter along with their application. The scholarship website gives examples of a sample resume and sample cover letter for applicants to look at.
