The Shut Up & Sweat Athletic Gear Student Athlete Scholarship is a scholarship program that awards 3 $2000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors (who graduated in June of 2011) who are student athletes. To be eligible for a scholarship, you must:
1) Possess a minimum (3.00) grade point average for your entire high school grading period. (SU&SAG requires a transcript)
2) Provide a history of your sports and school involvement during your high school years, including any special awards (MVP, Class President, Team Captain, Most Inspirational, League Championship, etc.). This information must also be accompanied by coach or athletic director contact information, so that their Scholarship Committee can confirm this information.
3) Include any Community Service you may have been involved in during your high school years (Also providing contact information for us to verify the information).
4) Include any additional information that you believe helps qualify your nominee for a student athlete annual scholarship from Shut Up & Sweat Athletic Gear. (This may include work, home life special situation, etc.).
5) A 1-2 page letter from the nominating person/s explaining why the nominee is an excellent choice for a scholarship.
That list (taken from SU&SAG’s website) seems to switch from directions for the applicant (steps 1, 2, and 3) to directions for the nominator (4 and 5), so keep that in mind as you put your application together (also keep in mind that there is no application form; you simply mail in all of these different components). The completed information must be postmarked no later than August 1, 2011. Mail to:
