The Bridgestone Safety Scholars Video Scholarship is a video scholarship that is open to all drivers in the United States and Canada from ages 16-21. This video scholarship is all about safety on the road.  The deadline for this scholarship opportunity has been extended to June 24, 2011! The awards for this scholarship are:

  1. Grand prize of $10,000
  2. Two $5,000 awards for runners-up

The scholarship website takes you through the entire process from making your video to submitting it!

To give you an idea of possible video topics, SafetyScholars.com lists some example topics:

  • Seat belt usage
  • Tire inflation
  • Avoiding distractions while driving (like cell phones and texting)
  • Driving defensively
  • Stopping for a yellow light instead of speeding through it

Videos should be 25 or 55 seconds long and can be uploaded to the Safety Scholars website.

After the videos are submitted, the scholarship committee will post the top 10 videos to be voted upon.

Best of luck to all scholarship applicants!
