The California Nurses Association offers scholarships through the Sandra R. Spaulding Memorial Scholarship Fund in order to encourage ethnic and socio-economic diversity in nursing. To be eligible for these scholarships (which are offered in an unspecified amount), an applicant must be:
Accepted for admission to a second year accredited Associated Degree Nursing (A.D.N.) Program and,
Enrolled in at least half-time study, as defined by the student’s institutions, and
Planning to complete the degree program within two (2) years.
When reviewing applications, the Scholarship Fund looks for commitment and active participation in nursing and health related organizations, professional vision and direction, and financial need.
The application for the Sandra R. Spaulding Memorial Scholarship can be seen at the above link for the scholarship page, or can be downloaded from the California Nurses Association website. Applications must be postmarked by August 1, 2011. Send the completed application to:
