The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping lower income students achieve their educational goals and dreams. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation works to give high-achieving first-generation and lower income students access to leadership and educational opportunities. Each year the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation offers several scholarships to deserving students:
The first scholarship opportunity is the Young Scholars Program which is for students who are in the 7th grade. Each year 50 students are selected for this program, which offers a “tailored educational program that includes, but is not limited to, support for summer programs, distance learning courses, and music and art instruction.” Students in the program also have continued access to support from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation in both undergraduate and graduate school. Applicants for the Young Scholars Program are selected by the following factors: academics, extracurricular activities, financial need, and “a strong will to succeed.” The application process for this scholarship (including the application) can be found here.
The second scholarship offered by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is the Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. The Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is for students who have are transferring from community college to a four-year college or university. This generous scholarship opportunity awards 50 students a scholarship worth up to $30,000 per year. The selection committee will be looking at the following factors when evaluating applicants:
- Academic achievement
- Critical thinking ability
- Financial Need
- Will to Succeed
- Breadth of interest and activities

Finally, the Foundation offers a variety of awards for students pursuing graduate studies. These scholarships are available to students who are studying the arts, working on their dissertation, or who received an undergraduate scholarship from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation.
