Thomas “Sarge” Johnson Scholarship Program

usa boxing 150x150 Thomas Sarge Johnson Scholarship ProgramAs you know, at Scholarships360, we love to find really unique opportunities.  Students are not just the sum of their GPA and SAT scores and we want the scholarships we profile to reflect this.  Today’s scholarship was established by the United States Amateur Boxing Inc. and supports student-athletes who box competitively.

The Thomas “Sarge” Johnson Scholarship Program provides financial aid for student-athletes who are pursuing post-secondary education (beyond high school).  This can include technical, trade, community college, and four-year college programs of study.

There are three big requirements for the Thomas “Sarge” Johnson Scholarship:

  1. A high school degree (or GED)
  2. Status as a current USA Boxing registered athlete for three consecutive years (including the current year)
  3. Participation in two USA Boxing sanctioned events during each of the three consecutive membership years

The scholarship application can be found online and includes an essay and recommendation.

This scholarship award is due July 15, 2011!

If applicants have any questions about this award, they can contact Cam Thompson through e-mail (cthompson@usaboxing.org) or telephone (719.866.2315).

Best of luck to all applicants!
