Get S.A.F.E. is a nonprofit organization started by Stuart Haskin. The mission of Haskin and Get S.A.F.E. is to promote public and personal safety. Each year, Get S.A.F.E. offers a scholarship each year for undergraduate and graduate students. The scholarship committee will also consider the applicant’s interest in person and public safety.
This scholarship is essay-based and asks applicants to answer one of the following question sin a 1,000 word essay:
- How has the book The Gift of Freedom: A Stronger, Safer You positively impacted your daily life with a new sense of safety awareness?
- What is your commitment to improving the lives of both survivors and average citizens now with the knowledge you have attained? You may describe your goals/vision in connection to your academic/career involvement, as well as through any kind of volunteer interests you may have.
- Describe what differentiates Stuart’s groundbreaking approach to safety education in reference to traditional curriculums (be as specific as possible.)
The essay will be judged on the following factors:
- Originality
- Quality of research
- Effectiveness of presentation
- Grammar use and spelling

The deadline for this scholarship is July 22, 2011. Finalists will be notified on August 15, 2011.
