Many churches and religious organizations offer scholarship money and scholarship grants to students. The Presbyterian Church is no different. Every year, the Presbyterian Church (USA) offers the Student Opportunity Scholarship for Ethnic Minority Groups. These scholarships are for students who are Presbyterians who are upper-division college students. These scholarships are especially for students who are ethnic or racial minorities. This opportunity is also great, because it can be renewed so it keeps on giving!
The guidelines from the scholarship are outlined online on the scholarship website.
To be eligible to apply, the following are required:
- Be a member of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
- Have completed first year of college.
- Be enrolled full time at an accredited college or university in the United States.
- Be in good academic standing (2.5 GPA or greater).
- Be seeking a bachelor degree.
- Demonstrate financial need.
Awards are typically worth up to $2,000 and applications must be postmarked by June 1, 2011.
