American Society of Engineers of Indian Origin Scholarships

The American Society of Engineers of Indian Origin (Southern California Chapter) is a national organization for Indian-American engineers.  The organization offers a variety of different resources for students including their annual scholarship program.

Each year, the ASEI offers scholarships for students who are attending both undergraduate and graduate school for engineering.  Additionally, the ASEI offers the ASEI Kalpana Chawla Scholarship for graduate students interested in aerospace engineering.

The scholarship committee looks at the following factors in applicants:

1. Demonstrated ability
2. Academic achievement, including GPA/honors/awards
3. Career objectives
4. Financial hardship
5. Faculty recommendations
6. Student involvement in science fair, campus activities
7. Industrial exposure including part-time work and internships
8. Involvement in ASEI and other community activities (if you are not a member of ASEI you can register here)
