The National Weather Association offers a number of scholarship opportunities to college students each year but, unfortunately, two of the deadlines have past (if you’re interested, mark them on your calendar for next year!). The Award Grant for Meteorlogical Satellite Applications is, however, still open! A brief description of the scholarship:
Undergraduate students are invited to write an original paper on meteorological satellite applications. Themes of the papers may include original research, case studies, or a survey of applications. The recipient of the award will receive a Grant of $500 and be invited to present their paper at the NWA Annual Meeting.
For the 2010-2011 school year, the application is due on June 15th. This program awards a $500 prize to the winner, along with the opportunity to present your paper at the NWA Annual Meeting (which may be worth a lot more than $500 in terms of connections, etc.). If you have any questions, direct them to: Ralph.R.Ferraro@noaa.gov or assist@nwas.org
As always, best of luck!
