William R. Stanitz Award from the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America

The Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America sponsors several scholarship grants for the Romanian Orthodox community including the William R. Stanitz Award. The award is funded by a generous grant from the Constantin J. Stanitz family of Chicago, Illinois.  This award will be for at least two scholarships of $1,000.00 each.

Applicants must meet the following qualifications to apply:

  • Membership in The American Romanian Orthodox Youth (AROY)
  • High school degree
  • A current college student or a student who is enrolling in college
The scholarship application includes:
  • A biographical history of your family
  • Academic Transcript
  • Extracurricular activities (with an emphasis on AROY and Church activities)
  • Photograph of yourself
  • Essay explaining why you are applying for the scholarship
  • Letter of recommendation from a priest or AROY adviser

The deadline for this scholarship is July 1 and application materials can be sent to:
