The Former Majority Association for Equality Scholarship

100001922776830 484 1552755368 The Former Majority Association for Equality Scholarship The Former Majority Association for Equality is a San Marcos, TX based charity that specifically awards scholarship money to white males. Yes, you read that correctly! In a world where scholarships abound for different races and minority groups, this may be the first scholarship that I’ve ever come across to focus on, as they call it, filling “in the gap in the scholarships offered” by focusing on caucasian men. The website does make it very clear that the FMAE does not advocate white supremacy or any such thing (and does not accept donations from such groups), but simply strives to make sure there is truly equal opportunities for all students.

This year, the application season has passed for 2011 (winners of the $500 scholarships will be announced this July 4) although students can already apply for next year’s Fall 2011 scholarships. These scholarships have a deadline of June 1, 2011, and are for High School Seniors, Community College Students, Undergraduate Students, Graduate Students, and Technical School Students. The application is fairly run-of-the-mill, asking for SAT/ACT scores, extra-curricular activities, a letter of recommendation, an official transcript, and two essays. In other words, it shouldn’t take too long for the experienced scholarship applicant.
