One of the first places students go to find scholarships is the internet, and most students will just type ‘scholarships’ into a search engine and will click on the first result which is www.scholarships.com. Scholarships.com is probably the second best scholarship site around, so it is certainly worth checking out (for those of you wondering, www.scholarships360.org is first). In addition to being a great scholarship resource, Scholarships.com has a few scholarships of their own.
The Scholarships
The Scholarships.com scholarships consists of four great scholarship opportunities. There are 16 total awards for a total of $16,000 dollars ($1,000 each).
The first scholarship is The “You Like Me . . . You Really Like Me” Facebook Scholarship. To enter this scholarship you must “like” Scholarships.com on Facebook and then comment about how Scholarships.com has helped you in your quest for Financial Aid. Pretty simple. This scholarship has one award and closes March 31, 2011. (Hint: you can enter as many times as you want within reason).
To enter the Missing Link Scholarship you must add the link to http://www.scholarships.com/financial-aid/college-scholarships/ to your school’s homepage so that students can take advantage of Scholarships.com (although you should change it to Scholarships360.org!). This also sends March 31, 2011 and there are ten different awards of $1,000.
The Resolve to Evolve Scholarship is essay-based and not up yet, but check back on the Scholarships.com website to see when it becomes available. This looks like a really cool opportunity and we will probably profile it separately when it goes live!
The Tell a Friend Scholarship is more like a contest, as all you have to do is refer friends to the resources offered by Scholarships.com.
