Nettie Tucker Yowell Scholarship
The state of Virginia is home to some great schools including Thomas Jefferson’s University of Virginia, the College of William and Mary, Virginia Tech, Washington & Lee, among many others. The Virginia and Professional Women’s Foundation offers some great scholarships for Virgina students who plan on attending one of the fine institutions in Virginia. One of these great opportunities is the Nettie Tucker Yowell Scholarship.
The scholarship is awarded to at least one student and ranges in value from $500 to $1,000 (depending on the financial need of the winner). The requirements for the scholarship are pretty straight-forward: you must be a Virginia resident who is planning on working towards a baccalaureate degree in Virginia. Furthermore, you must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and 1000 on your SATs (Critical Reading and Math).

When filling out your application and writing your essays, the scholarship committee gives several things to keep in mind:

- Scholastic record
- Educational goals
