If you are going to high school in New Jersey and your guidance counselor is a member of the NJSCA, you are eligible for one of the three awards of $1,000.

The application consists of a short essay and is due March 13, 2011. Winners will be awarded at the annual New Jersey School Counselor Association dinner in May!

Interested applications should double-check to see if their guidance counselor is an NJSCA member.  If so, they can get started on the essay.  The topic of the essay should be on how your guidance counselor has impacted your high school experience in a positive way.

Any questions can be sent to Sheila Brewer via e-mail: sbrewer@pemb.org. Completed applications should be sent with the essay attached as a Word document to njscascholar@gmail.com with “Attn: Sheila Brewer” in the subject.

This is a wonderful opportunity to both thank you guidance counselor (I am sure they would love to see your entries) and try to win a scholarship award.
