Each year, the local branches of the Ronald McDonald House Charities offer scholarships for high school seniors who will be attending a two or four-year college.  The only other requirement is that students must have above a 2.7 GPA.

To get started you should check out the list of participating counties around the United States.

Next, you need to determine which scholarship you will be applying for.  Most counties offer four different opportunities:

• RMCH Scholars is the general Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarship program open to all students.

• RMCH/ASIA Scholars is open to students of Asian/Pacific Island heritage.

• RMCH/African-American Future Achievers is open to students of African-American heritage.

• RMCH/HACER Scholars is open to students of Hispanic heritage.

Each scholarship is worth at least $1,000, but according to the website, it does depend on which county you are applying with.

Applicants can either fill out their applications online or send in a hard copy by January 28, 2011.

Winning applicants will be notified between May and June of 2011.

This looks like a great opportunity, because it is based upon county, so there are plenty of scholarship being offered!
